ATTRACTIONS:

D-LAZY-2: Carriage rides through  mid-town (year-round, weather permitting) & sleigh rides through historic Upper Canyon (wintertime).  Reservations: 575-257-7836

DISC GOLF COURSE: Boneshakers Cyclery 575-257-6784; Park & Rec 575-257-5030   It's free! From Sudderth Drive, take Carrizo Canyon Road 0.8 miles; Turn right on Grindstone Canyon Road 0.3 miles; Turn left on Resort Drive 0.3 miles to entrance of Grindstone Disc Golf Course. Discs for sale at Boneshaker Cyclery at 2312 Sudderth, in midtown Ruidoso.

FUNTRACKERS:  575-257-3275  Carrizo Canyon at 700 block of Sudderth. Family entertainment complex. 3 Go Kart Tracks, 18-hole Miniature Golf, Bumper Boats, Giant Maze, Climbing Wall, Game Room and much more. Open daily all summer 10am to 10pm; weekends all year, weather permitting.

HIKING & CAMPING: The Lincoln National Forest offers a number of developed & dispersed campsites as well as hiking trails for all abilities. Stop by the Ranger Station on Mechem (Hwy 48) for more information on either.  575-257-4095

MONJEAU LOOKOUT is located up Ski Run Road . Turn right on Gilmore Canyon , about 1 ½ miles in.  The Lookout is just 4 miles further.

MOUNTAIN MAZE: 575-973-0531 All ages enjoy getting “LOST” in over 5,200 sq ft of frequently changed pathways. Race the clock and each other to win Amaze’n Prizes! Located with FUNTRACKERS at Sudderth and Carrizo Canyon. Open daily during spring break and all summer 10am-10pm, weather permitting.

PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL:  500 block of Sudderth, next to Schoolhouse Park . Pool is open 11:45am -4:45pm, Memorial Day through mid-August.  Info: Parks & Rec, 575-257-5030

SEEPING SPRINGS TROUT LAKES: Hwy 70, 4 mi. east of the racetrack. Paddleboats, trout fishing -  guaranteed catch -  as well as all the needed equipment on-site! Licenses not required. Paddleboat season is Memorial Day through Labor Day, fishing is available daily & year-round. Info: 575-378-4216

SKI APACHE: 12 miles up Ski Run Road, off Hwy 48. Their Kiddie Korral is an all day ski instruction program for 4-6 year olds (advanced reservations recommended) & their Ski School is for ages  7 & up. THE HUBBARD MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN WEST :    Hwy 70, East of racetrack. This kid-friendly museum features Indian artifacts, wagons, a Kid's corner as well as an amazing bronze horse sculpture out front! Open daily 10-10, year-round. Info: 575-378-4142 or via www.hubbardmuseum.org

THE FLYING J RANCH:  Hwy 48, 1.5 mi. North of Ski Apache turnoff. This Chuckwagon super & western stage show is fun for the whole family. THE OLD MILL: 641 Sudderth, near Cattle Barons Restaurant. Built in 1868, this is the oldest building in Ruidoso & the mill still grinds flour & corn meal on it’s premises! Hours: Mon & Thurs 10-3, Fri - Sun 10-5, closed Tues & Wed.

CROWN OF THE DOWNS: Ruidoso Downs Skateboard Park, located at All-American Park on Hwy 70 W. Free admission, open year-round, park closes at sundown. Info: Ruidoso Downs Public Works, 575-378-6162.

WINTER PARK:  Tubing & Sledding area at the base of Ski Run Road includes giant tubes, a KIDZ KORRAL & snack bar! Open 10-6 Sat & Sun from Thanksgiving through Easter & all week during Spring Break - weather permitting. Info: 575-336-7079

NORTH PARK: Ruidoso's only skateboard park has ramps & lighting for evening enjoyment. Free admission, open year-round. Park closes at 10pm summer, around 9pm winter.  Info: Parks & Rec, 575-257-5030

KIDS KONNECTION is located behind the schools on Hull & White Mountain.

TWO RIVERS is located behind the Visitors Center on the 700 block of Sudderth. 

SCHOOLHOUSE PARK is on the 500 block of Sudderth. 

CEDAR CREEK DAY/PICNIC AREA is just past the Ranger station on the 900 block of Mechem.

MONJEAU LOOKOUT is located up Ski Run Road. Turn right on Gilmore Canyon, about 1 ½ miles in.  The Lookout is just 4 miles further.

KIDS CORRAL:  Pony rides here! Located next to the Visitor's Center & across Funtrackers on Sudderth. Open daily Memorial Day through Labor Day from 10:30-5:30, then  9:30-5pm (weekends) the rest of the year.   Info: 575-257-7836

HORSEBACK RIDING STABLES:  Riding choices range from 30-minutes to 1-hour rides through the mountains or closer to town. Reservations strongly recommended. (Year-round hours vary)

INN OF THE MOUNTAIN GODS STABLES: 575-464-7424, Mescalero; Trail rides depart at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm; reservations recommended, children must be at least 8 years old; $32 per 1-hour ride. Note: Stables closed if winds exceed 25 mph. Located at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino, Mescalero NM.
