  • CROWN OF THE DOWNS: Ruidoso Downs Skateboard Park, located at All-American Park on Hwy 70 W. Free admission, open year-round, park closes at sundown. Info: Ruidoso Downs Public Works, 575-378-6162.
  • WINTER PARK:  Tubing & Sledding area at the base of Ski Run Road includes giant tubes, a KIDZ KORRAL & snack bar! Open 10-6 Sat & Sun from Thanksgiving through Easter & all week during Spring Break - weather permitting. Info: 575-336-7079
  • NORTH PARK: Ruidoso's only skateboard park has ramps & lighting for evening enjoyment. Free admission, open year-round. Park closes at 10pm summer, around 9pm winter.  Info: Parks & Rec, 575-257-5030
  • KIDS KONNECTION is located behind the schools on Hull & White Mountain.
  • TWO RIVERS is located behind the Visitors Center on the 700 block of Sudderth. 
  • SCHOOLHOUSE PARK is on the 500 block of Sudderth. 
  • CEDAR CREEK DAY/PICNIC AREA is just past the Ranger station on the 900 block of Mechem.
  • MONJEAU LOOKOUT is located up Ski Run Road. Turn right on Gilmore Canyon, about 1 ½ miles in.  The Lookout is just 4 miles further.
  • FUNTRACKERS: 700 block of Sudderth Drive, next to Pizza Hut. Go-carts, water bumper-boats, arcade & miniature golf. Open daily from 10-10, Memorial Day through Labor Day then 10-10 Saturdays  otherwise. Paddleboats open summertime only. Info: 575-257-3275
  • THE HUBBARD MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN WEST:  Hwy 70, East of racetrack. This kid-friendly museum features Indian artifacts, wagons, a Kid’s corner as well as an amazing bronze horse sculpture out front! Open daily 10-10, year-round. Info: 575-378-4142 or via www.hubbardmuseum.org
  • HIGH ALTITUDE BIKE RENTALS: 2316½ Sudderth (midtown) rents mountain bikes, outdoor gear & all bike    rentals include trails maps! Info: High Altitude, 575-257-0120
  • BILLY THE KID NAT’L SCENIC BYWAY & VISITORS CENTER: Hwy 70, east of the racetrack & next to The Hubbard  Museum. Info: 575-378-5318 or www.zianet.com/billythekid
  • PAN-O-RAMA MINIATURE GOLF:  Off Eagle Drive in mid-town. Open daily from 10-10, Memorial Day through Labor Day then 10-10 Saturdays otherwise.  Info: 575-257-7164
  • HIKING & CAMPING: The Lincoln National Forest offers a number of developed & dispersed campsites as well as hiking trails for all abilities. Stop by the Ranger Station on Mechem (Hwy 48) for more information on either.  575-257-4095
  • PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL:  500 block of Sudderth, next to Schoolhouse Park. Pool is open 11:45am -4:45pm, Memorial Day through mid-August.  Info: Parks & Rec, 575-257-5030
  • D-LAZY-2: Carriage rides through  mid-town (year-round, weather permitting) & sleigh rides through historic Upper Canyon (wintertime).  Reservations: 575-257-7836
  • THE FLYING J RANCH:  Hwy 48, 1.5 mi. North of Ski Apache turnoff. This Chuckwagon super & western stage show is fun for the whole family.   • SPENCER THEATER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS:  Hwy 220 in Alto, NM, offers free tours of this beautiful state-of-the-art theater every Tuesday & Thursday at 10am (except for holidays & performance days). Info: 888-818-7872, 575-336-4800 or via www.spencertheater.com
